A premier renewable energy company is seeking a high caliber Associate General Counsel to execute legal strategy across solar energy project transactions and development. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will serve as a key legal and commercial advisor to cross functional deal teams across all project lifecycle stages. Why This Is the Right Next Move for You Drive Clean Energy: Play a central legal role in high impact solar and energy storage deals from inception to closing. High-Level Visibility: Advise deal teams, investment committees, and executive leadership directly. Commercial & Legal Integration: Serve as a strategic business partner across 3–5 active deal teams covering project development, acquisitions, and M&A.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute Transactions: Negotiate, document, and close portfolio acquisitions, sales, and complex solar project deals. Development & Site Control: Draft and negotiate land purchase agreements, leases, easements, and offtake contracts; oversee title and survey reviews. EPC & Operational Advisory: Lead negotiations for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts and advise on land use, environmental regulations, and regulatory compliance. Governance & Operations: Manage project subsidiary structures with paralegal support, assist with Board reporting, and refine standard legal templates. Candidate Profile & Details
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of relevant legal experience, with strong preference for solar and renewable energy transactions (law firm or in-house).Key Traits: Exceptional commercial judgment, strong communication, meticulous attention to detail, and multi project deal management. Location & Availability: Mostly remote with 3 weeks WFH and 1 week in DC/Baltimore area office per month.
