Web Developer – WordPress & Shopify

Requirements: Hands-on experience developing Word Press websites and custom Word Press plugins is required. Practical experience with Shopify, PHP, Java Script, HTML/CSS, MySQL, Shopify Liquid, and Woo Commerce. Experience with REST APIs, third-party integrations, Word Press hooks, actions and filters, website debugging, Git/version control, hosting, DNS, and website migrations. Able to work with existing codebases, troubleshoot issues, and build new functionality beyond installing themes, page builders, and plugins. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues. Able to solve problems independently, exchange feedback, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-moving environment. Interest or experience in hunting, shooting, fishing, backpacking, camping, or the outdoor industry is a plus. Bonus experience includes Advanced Custom Fields, custom Woo Commerce development, Shopify API development, Xen Foro or other forum platforms, Klaviyo, Google Analytics or Tag Manager, Cloudflare, Linux/server administration, technical SEO, high-traffic websites, and e-commerce optimization.

Responsibilities: Build, maintain, and improve Word Press websites and develop custom plugins and other Word Press functionality. Develop and manage Shopify stores, customize Word Press and Shopify themes, and support Woo Commerce and Shopify features. Build and maintain API integrations and troubleshoot website, plugin, theme, and server issues. Improve site speed, performance, and mobile usability. Manage website migrations, hosting, DNS, SSL, backups, and security. Implement analytics, tracking pixels, and marketing integrations. Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns, landing pages, promotions, and website improvements. Support product launches and promotions, translating marketing goals and ideas into functional website solutions. Work across websites and brands in the outdoor industry.
