Legal Nurse Consultant

Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Legal Nurse Consultant to join our team remotely. In this critical role, you will utilize your clinical expertise to review, analyze, and summarize medical records in support of active litigation and negotiations. You will serve as the bridge between complex medical information and legal strategy, working closely with attorneys to identify key medical issues, evaluate causation and damages, and prepare cases for deposition and trial. This role is ideal for a registered nurse with strong analytical skills who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities: Review, analyze, and organize medical records, radiology studies, and billing statements Prepare comprehensive medical chronologies, timelines, and summaries that correlate clinical events to case allegations Identify missing records and develop requests for additional documentation Conduct medical research on conditions, standards of care, and treatment protocols relevant to active cases Evaluate medical issues related to causation and damages Assess the strengths and weaknesses of medical aspects of cases in collaboration with attorneys Assist in identifying, vetting, and retaining expert witnesses Perform background searches on opposing expert witnesses Prepare attorneys for depositions and trial through detailed case analysis Educate attorneys and clients on relevant medical concepts Maintain organized electronic databases of case materials Track and record billable time in compliance with firm policies

Required: Active, non-restrictive RN license Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor's degree Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex medical information for legal audiences Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic document management Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet home office setup

Preferred: Legal Nurse Consultant Certification (LNCC through AALNC or equivalent)1-2 years of prior Legal Nurse Consultant or RN paralegal experience Experience in medical malpractice or personal injury litigation Familiarity with Lexis Nexis, Pacer, or similar legal research and case management tools

Salary Range: $85,000 to $125,000 per year, commensurate with experience, certifications, and scope of responsibility.
