Lead, Safety Integration

Job Description: As Lead, Safety Integration, the responsibilities will include leading the application of advanced numerical modeling tools in support of vehicle safety development and it will include performing component level impact test and vehicle level collision safety test, developing specifications for safety systems, analyzing test results and improving performance of safety systems. Test results and analysis are to be communicated through reports, summaries and group meetings. Position reports to the Head of Vehicle Engineering

Technical Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of crash/impact analysis and development. Develop structural crashworthiness with BIW & occupant dynamics analysis with considerable knowledge in FMVSS and other crash assessment tests. Develop the test plans for impacts, OOP, sled and crash tests. Analyze the impact, sled and crash test results along with simulation outputs. Develop optimization of safety restraint system with team through sled and crash tests. Prepare the test requirements for sled and crash performance. Track the development schedule for each safety components and safety system. Recommend design approaches and solutions to technical problems directly to other teams on technical matters relating to safety restraint systems. Supplies CAE analysis results and proposals to the design/certification teams from concept to production. Integration of advanced simulation methods and tools into the engineering discipline, including but not limited to participation in design reviews, FMEA reviews, root cause analysis, product optimization and cost reduction activities. Control the budgetary plan for CAE tools.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering/Impact Biomedical Engineering or above 15+ years’ experience in crash and impact analysis in an automotive Roof crush, head impact experiences required. Vehicle safety systems development with a major OEM on production intent development programs. Background in Restraints System Development (Airbags, Seatbelts).Training in Motor Safety Standard, Product Liability and FMEA.Proficient PC Skills (Excel, Word, Power Point and other technical software) Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.

Preferred Requirements: Dyna or PAM-CRASH experiences preferred.
