Air Environmental Engineer

Key Responsibilities: Air Permitting: Prepare, submit, and manage complex air quality permit applications, including minor source permits, Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD), and Title V operating permits. Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and apply federal, state, and local air regulations (such as EPA and state-level environmental agency rules) to ensure facility compliance. Technical Assessments: Perform air dispersion modeling, data analysis, and technical evaluations to support environmental impact assessments. Reporting & Recordkeeping: Prepare routine compliance reports, toxic release inventories, and maintain audit-ready recordkeeping systems. Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with operations, engineering, and legal teams, and interact directly with clients and regulatory agency representatives.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline.

Experience: 3 to 10 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, industrial manufacturing, or regulatory compliance focused on air quality. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing/chemical processes, chemistry, and air pollution control technologies. Software & Tools: Proficiency in standard office software (Word, Excel) and familiarity with environmental databases or air modeling software. Communication: Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations to non-technical teams.
