Estimator / Operations Coordinator

What You'll Do: You will work directly with the owner and assist with both estimating and operations, including: Conducting jobsite visits and evaluating project conditions Measuring asphalt, concrete, sealcoating, and sport court work Preparing takeoffs, quantities, and estimates Assisting with proposals and project scopes Communicating with customers, property managers, general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors Helping coordinate project schedules, materials, equipment, and crews Performing pre-job site visits and identifying potential problems before work begins Assisting with project handoffs from estimating to production Checking active projects and helping keep work organized and on schedule Tracking changes in scope and additional work Helping improve estimating, scheduling, and operating systems as the company grows You will not be expected to know everything on day one. The right person will spend time learning how we estimate, build, schedule, and execute our projects. Who We're Looking For The right person is: Dependable and punctual Organized and detail-oriented Comfortable working both in the field and in an office environment Able to communicate professionally with customers and crews Comfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, plans, and estimating software Able to make decisions and solve problems without needing constant direction Willing to learn construction estimating and field operations Comfortable taking responsibility and being held accountable Respectful of experienced field employees and willing to earn their trust Interested in building a career rather than simply filling a position Construction experience is strongly preferred. Experience with asphalt paving, civil/site work, concrete, estimating, project coordination, or construction management is a major plus. However, character, work ethic, organization, and willingness to learn are more important to us than having the perfect résumé.

What Success Looks Like: Initially, you will work closely with the owner to learn our estimating process, customers, crews, equipment, suppliers, and projects. As you become proficient, you will take increasing responsibility for site visits, estimating, scheduling, project preparation, and coordination. Our goal is for this person to eventually become someone the company can rely on to help keep projects moving without the owner having to personally handle every detail. There is substantial room for increased responsibility and compensation for someone who proves they can take ownership and help the company operate successfully. Salary: Competitive and based on experience Compensation will reflect the candidate's construction knowledge, estimating experience, and ability to take responsibility. Additional compensation and benefits can be discussed based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday, with occasional early mornings or Saturdays depending on project requirements.

Location: Projects throughout Oʻahu. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
