Position Overview: Brown, LLC is seeking an experienced, aggressive, and results-driven litigation attorney to join our wage-and-hour practice. This is not a training position. We are looking for an attorney who brings one of two backgrounds: Substantial plaintiff-side FLSA and wage-and-hour experience, including collective or class-action litigation; orA demonstrated record as a hard-hitting civil litigator who can independently drive complex cases, take depositions, argue motions, manage discovery, and negotiate significant resolutions. Candidates must be prepared to assume meaningful responsibility from the outset. The successful attorney will be expected to move cases forward with urgency, exercise sound judgment, and produce excellent work without requiring basic litigation training or constant supervision. Our cases involve unpaid overtime, employee misclassification, off-the-clock work, unlawful pay practices, and other systemic wage violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act and corresponding state laws.

Key Responsibilities: Litigate FLSA collective actions and Rule 23 class actions from investigation through resolution Develop case strategy and maintain responsibility for advancing assigned matters Conduct factual investigations and substantive client and witness interviews Draft complaints, briefs, dispositive motions, discovery demands, and pretrial submissions Take and defend depositions Argue motions and appear at court conferences and hearings Develop and analyze damages models with support from experts and consultants Identify discovery deficiencies and pursue appropriate relief Prepare matters for mediation, settlement, and trial Lead strategic settlement discussions and negotiations Maintain close and timely communication with clients Contribute to the firm’s thought leadership through articles, presentations, CLEs, or webinars Approach every case with urgency, preparation, and accountability

Required Qualifications: Candidates must be admitted and in good standing in at least one United States jurisdiction and must satisfy at least one of the following experience tracks: Track One: Experienced Wage-and-Hour Attorney Substantial experience representing employees in FLSA or state wage-and-hour litigation Meaningful experience with collective certification, class certification, or related motion practice Familiarity with damages analysis, payroll records, timekeeping data, and common wage-and-hour defenses Demonstrated ability to manage wage-and-hour matters with limited supervision Track Two: Accomplished Civil LitigatorA proven record handling significant civil litigation Meaningful responsibility for depositions, discovery, motion practice, hearings, negotiations, or trials The ability to take ownership of cases and press them forward independently Strong interest in representing employees and rapidly mastering federal and state wage-and-hour law Qualifications Applicable to All Candidates Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills Strong strategic judgment Exceptional organization and attention to detail The ability to manage multiple active matters and deadlinesA strong work ethic and an appropriate sense of urgency The confidence to make recommendations and defend themA commitment to ethical, client-centered advocacy The ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, staff, experts, and clients Attorneys whose experience has been limited primarily to research, document review, or supporting other attorneys without meaningful responsibility for litigation strategy and execution are unlikely to be a fit for this position.
