Sr Commercial Counsel- Data Privacy

🔑 KEY QUALIFICATIONS: ✅ 7+ years of legal experience, with significant in-house experience preferred✅ High-level Data Privacy experience REQUIRED, including experience building, implementing, and scaling a privacy infrastructure/program Developing enterprise-wide privacy programs and governance frameworks Establishing privacy policies, procedures, controls, and approval processes Building scalable processes for data collection, use, retention, sharing, and protection Advising on CCPA/CPRA and evolving U.S. state privacy laws Data mapping, privacy assessments, and data governance Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and vendor privacy reviews Privacy-by-design initiatives Cybersecurity, incident response, and regulatory readiness Partnering cross-functionally to embed privacy into business operations✅ AI Governance experience, including developing policies, risk frameworks, controls, and processes surrounding the use of AI and emerging technologies✅ CIPP/US and/or CIPM certification strongly preferred✅ Strong commercial contracting experience, including SaaS, cloud, software licensing, technology services, data, marketing, vendor, and strategic partnership agreementsRESPONSIBILITIESBuild, mature, and oversee enterprise data privacy infrastructure Develop and implement scalable privacy policies, governance frameworks, processes, and controls Serve as senior legal advisor on privacy, AI governance, cybersecurity, and emerging technology Advise leadership on CCPA/CPRA and evolving U.S. privacy requirements Establish practical privacy processes across Technology, Marketing, Digital, eCommerce, and business operations Lead privacy reviews, DPAs, data-sharing arrangements, vendor assessments, and privacy impact assessments Develop and implement AI governance frameworks and responsible-use policies Negotiate complex technology, SaaS, data, marketing, and commercial agreements Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to integrate privacy into business strategy and operations Manage outside counsel and support regulatory inquiries, investigations, and litigation as needed The ideal candidate is a strategic privacy leader who has actually built the infrastructure behind a mature privacy program—while also bringing strong commercial contracting and AI governance experience.📧 For immediate consideration, please send your resume to Stacey.
